  • MISSION OF NRCN    To Promote evidence based cross-sectoral, multi-stakeholder approach to urban development that can help cities unlock opportunities for growth and efficiently identify and tackle risks


       (a)Reconfigure the operating systems of cities around the organizing principle of resilience to allow them withstand shocks and stresses (b) Promote complementarity between cities “cities working together” (c) Research and develop tailored solutions to Nigeria’s urban challenges

  • OBJECTIVES OF NRCN    (a)Bring about intercity collaboration between cities; developing joint projects, research and mechanisms for sharing and disseminating accumulated knowledge, experience and examples of good practices in urban management     (b)Raise public awareness and action about sustainable and resilient development of cities    (c)Develop a blended training system for capacity building and transfer of knowledge     (d)Develop evidence based instruments and methodologies for rapid appraisal, planning and management of cities    (e) Develop a web based Platform for promoting dialogue among urban stakeholders


1st Stakeholders Workshop

The Nigeria Resilient Cities Network (NRCN) was on Thursday 14th, July 2016 established. The Network secretariat which would be domiciled at the Centre for Spatial Information Science (CSIS), ABU Zaria, was established with the support of NIAF.

2nd Stakeholders Workshop

The Nigeria Resilient Cities Network (NRCN) held an intensive, one-day interactive workshop in Abuja, with stakeholders from all six geo-political zones and FCT, on Monday 14th November, 2016.
